Though her career has spanned spanned multiple genres of both film and television, her work in the horror genre, in particular, has won her praise and established her as a modern-day scream queen. Roberts has received various accolades including a Young Artist Award, an MTV Movie & TV Award, and a ShoWest Award. Roberts made her acting debut at age 9 in the film “Blow” (2001) alongside Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. In 2004, she was cast in the lead role of Addie Singer on the Nickelodeon sitcom “Unfabulous,” which aired from 2004-2007 and established Roberts as a star among the teen set. During this time, Roberts starred in the family-friendly comedies “Aquamarine” (2006) and “Nancy Drew” (2007). She has since been seen in the films “Wild Child” (2008), “Hotel for Dogs” (2009), “Valentine's Day” (2010), “The Art of Getting By” (2011), “Scream 4” (2011), “We’re the Millers” (2013), and “Holidate” (2020), among others. Roberts gained further recognition for her starring roles in multiple seasons of the FX anthology series “American Horror Story” (2013–present) and for the lead role of Chanel Oberlin on the Fox comedy horror series “Scream Queens” (2015–2016). Outside of her acting career, Roberts has also dabbled in music. The “Unfabulous” soundtrack, on which Roberts performed every song, served as her unofficial debut album in 2005.
