Please fix naming scheme
Please use the naming scheme most commonly used in the MLX Community. For example: Phi-4-mini-instruct-4bit
I like having -mlx at the end to make it easily distinguishable as an mlx model when browsing models. Would it be possible to be able to toggle the output name to include this or not? Or customize it entirely, as I think "-q4" looks better and is more easily readable than "-4bit" as well but maybe thats just me.
MLX models on Hugging Face are mostly uploaded to the MLX Community, so adding -mlx to the name is redundant. The naming convention in the MLX Community is well established, and it makes searching for models easier.
Okay you probably know more about it than me, I'm pretty new to this. Stupid question maybe but when I use this space it always uploads it to my personal account? I can't select to upload to mlx community. In that case the "mostly uploaded to MLX community" point would not be so relevant in a space that cannot upload to the MLX community? 😅 Or have I missed the setting somewhere?
"Making searching for models easier" would mean having -mlx in the name in my world. But again, just my $0.02, I have not been at this for so long hehe
You can upload to the MLX Community. I think you have to create a repo in the MLX Community and upload files to it through the web UI. I might be missing something, but the Hugging Face UX could definitely be improved.
